All good things come to an end and that includes the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen’s nearly 40-year production run.
Mercedes-AMG will be celebrating it with a G65 Final Edition model, which will be limited to 65 units world wide. The limited edition model will feature its usual twin-turbo V12 engine, along with three locking differentials.
The G-Class’ aerodynamics might resemble those of a block of wood. However, the twin-turbocharged V12 doesn’t disappoint; with 630 horsewpoer and 738 lb.-ft. of torque on tap, the G65 completes the zero-to-100 km/h run in 5.3 seconds.
Stylistically, AMG have done their best to work with the G-Wagen’s squared profile. The Final Edition will be adorned with bronze accents inside and out, along with 21-inch wheels, matte black exhaust tips and a black grille with a bronze surround.Â
One thing is for sure – until the next-generation G-Class debuts, this behemoth of an off-roader will be missed.Â
